CREAMY HOME MADE CHICKEN SPREAD

If you like sandwich spreads but want to control what you eat it is a perfect recipe. You can make a fresh herbs infused and creamy in consistency spreads yourself in minutes. It is just about making sure you have the ingredients in place.

Ingredients

  • 1 cooked chicken breast, cubed in bite-size pieces
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of Mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon red paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 roughly chopped fresh thyme stalks
  • Salt to taste

Prep Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients into a food processor and mix well. You may need to open a couple of times and manually with a spoon scrap down to the food processor bottom the unmixed parts and mix again.
  2. Note: adding a little bit more of yogurt or just plain cold water may help in achieving thoroughly ground paste consistency.

This paste can be used in many different ways. I personally use it as a nice and filling spread for my sandwiches or veggies wraps. You can also pair it with really any type of a salad. Or just cut carrot and celery sticks and use it as a dip. The rich flavor of all the different herbs and spices makes this meal very versatile. Also feel free to add your favorite mix of herbs and spices and regulate the spiciness by adding more or less of spicy seasonings.
