Jamon Cheddar and Veggies Sandwich

Sandwiches – who doesn’t like them. But I have to tell you that I abstained from them for a long time on my way while losing weight. Why? It was mainly because I perceived bread as the bad carb food. But also I never had skills in making sandwiches a great tasting meal. This all changed with time. This is very simple sandwich consisting of whole grain bread, heart-healthy avocado and juicy (never make dry sandwiches – they suck big time) veggies.

Let’s get rolling Foodies!


  • 2 pieces of whole wheat bread
  • 100 grams jamon (Spanish or Italian ham) chopped roughly
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 thinly sliced onion
  • 1 small sour thinly sliced pickle
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

Prep Instructions

  1. Prepare 2 slices of whole wheat bread. You can toast them to get an extra crunch.
  2. Spread avocado on each bread piece.
  3. Place sliced onion and pickle.
  4. Season with a pinch of salt and cayenne pepper (I like a sandwich with character).
  5. Top with a slice of cheddar and chopped Jamon ham.
