Double Turkey Burger Paleo Style

Double Turkey Burger Paleo Style

It’s Burger Time!!! Let’s take however the lean approach. Why not replacing the bun with the veggies. It will make you fully satisfied with the desire for a juicy piece of meat and leave you light like a feather by trading the bun for the veggies of your choice. And you can get two patties instead of just one. Let’s get rolling Foodies!

DOUBLE BURGER WITH VEGGIES AND SAUCE IN BETWEEN IS THE HEART OF THIS BABY

Ingredients

  • 400 grams of ground turkey breast
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 thinly chopped onion
  • Salt and pepper
  • Ice salad leaves
  • 2 sliced pickles
  • 2 sliced tomatoes
  • Ketchup or home made barbeque sauce

Prep Instructions

1. Place ground beef in a bowl. Add 2 eggs, thinly chopped onions, salt and pepper. Mix well with washed hands (yes greasy touchy part of the recipe) or using a kitchen robot.

2. Shape hand-palm sized patties for burgers with hands or in a form if you have one.

3. Heat the pan and fry your burgers for 2 minutes on each side at least twice. All depends on how well you like your burgers done.

4. Wash ice salad leaves under cold water and dry with a towel.

5. Place some pickles, slice of tomato and chopped onions on a salad leave(s) and top all with a burger patty with a bit of ketchup.

7. Top the burger with the veggies repeating the process from the point above.

8. I suggest eating it right away with all the meat and veggies juices.

Nutrition Facts & Tips

One of the reasons I replaced the buns with the veggies is that I do not feel heavy on my stomach after dumping the bread. It took me some time to get used to this and I was thinking that I was losing on replacing the bun. But whenever I reached for a bun for my burger after eating it I just felt heavy. Now I cannot really imagine going back to the burger with the bun. I just bring variety of veggies. That works for me.

If you plan to take this meal into the office I recommend not forming the burger but rather placing the patties on all the veggies. It tastes exactly the same but you won’t mess your hands before typing in another order into the system.
