SPICY BABY BACK RIBS ON HONEY

SPICY BABY BACK RIBS ON HONEY

Unhealthy choices are part of a long term lean and healthy lifestyle. And this meal might sound like one. Over the years I came to understand that once in a while I need to chose a meal that I call less compliant. This means a meal that is normally not defined as too healthy. But as Micheal Pollan says: All things in moderation, including moderation. Let’s get rolling Foodie!

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of pork baby back ribs
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp of spicy red chili flakes (optional considering your spiciness tolerance)
  • 4 crushed garlic cloves
  • A piece of fresh and crushed ginger
  • 1/4 cup red paprika
  • 2 tbs coconut oil

Prep Instructions

  1. Wash ribs under cold water and dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a bowl mix coconut oil with all the spices (red paprika, spicy red chili flakes, garlic, ginger and salt)
  3. Cover ribs with the spices rub and place of a baking sheet.
  4. Cover with tin foil or close in baking dish.
  5. Cook in the over at 200 degrees C covered for 50 minutes. Remove the dish cover or tin foil and cook in the over on grill setting for 10 minutes – this should bring the crunchiness on the top side of the ribs.
  6. Serve immediately and keep the rest for your busy Work Week lunch or lunches.
  7. Add a selection of vegetables in a form of any salad or pair it with turmeric cooked tomatoes.

Preparation Variations

This is a Pressure Cooker friendly recipe. If you decide to cook it in a pressure cooker cut the cooking time in half and still place in the over for 10 minutes to achieve the crunchiness.
