TURMERIC COOKED SUPER GRAIN CALLED SPELT

TURMERIC COOKED SPELT

Spelt is one of my favorite grain alternative to rice. It has great taste and consistency. It goes perfectly as a side dish with your favorite protein source but also fits in well in a salad. Thought it takes longer to cook and it also stores well in a fridge. I highly recommend you try it out in your meals. Let’s get rolling Foodies!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups spelt
  • 2 cups fresh water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

Prep Instructions

  1. In a medium pot bring water to boiling.
  2. Add spelt grains, salt and turmeric powder.
  3. Lower heat to medium and cook for 1,5-2 hours.
  4. Cooked spelt grains should be soft and easy to bite.
