WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE STYLE?

I guess I matured to accept the fact that as we grow our life style and our body change. I noticed that I did not control that change in a way I wish I would. I reached out to Arek who had beenĀ  preaching me and other colleagues about the importance of sustainable change both in the area of movement and especially nutrition.

WHAT DID YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE PROGRAM?

For the first time in quite some time I was very aware that I was doing something planned and well adjusted to my abilities. I felt in control of the whole change process. I am not saying it was easy but this time with Arek’s clear instructions and well structured program I felt I was doing something in a more controlled environment and not traveling another ad hoc effort leading to nowhere.

WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE FOR YOU?

If someone is looking for a no-effort program then this is not it. For me personally the most challenging part was to actually do the prescribed and mutually agreed actions. And finding time was the real issue. But it is all about planning and focusing on actions rather than goals. So to cut the story short fitting in structured movement into my busy life style and consistent meal preparation ritual were the 2 major challenges.

WHAT FOR YOU WAS THE BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT?

Well I guess that would be building very resilient and consistent habit of meals preparation and integrating structured movement into my busy life. You know with 2 kids and full time job it is a little bit more difficult than when I was younger and full of energy.

WHERE DID YOU NOTICE THE BIGGEST IMPROVEMENTS?

Increased strength, elevated energy levels, my mindset and body composition. All improved significantly and I am still working hard to sustain that.

DID YOU FEEL ALONE IN PURSUING YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS GOALS IN YOUR ENVIRONMENT?

Now that I think I actually did. But working with Arek in the role of the coach really helped significantly. Any program without accountability and support coaching is going to be very difficult. I guess we all need support and an accountability partner on the way to a positive long-term sustainable change.

WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST TAKEAWAY FROM THE PROGRAM?

I really understood the importance of consistent high-quality nutrition in my life. For me it means having regular, home-cooked meals. It is especially important for me also to set a good example for my kids so they too grow up and hopefully will replicate the same in the future. I guess it’s a classic case that a guy normally goes through. Once I was young and my body was very forgiving during these active years. Then when I settled down, started a family and got a job suddenly it started to change. I was not that young any more and my body was neglected constantly, you know never time for a normal meal, always busy etc. But during the program I started with the most basic behavior change practices and this let me implement a habit-based action plan well fit into my life and everyday challenges. Fixing my nutritional habits laid the foundation for better performance both in and outside of the gym.
